Twente University has once again been ranked as “the best university of technology”

4 August 2025

University of Twente again rankes “best University of Technology in the Netherlands”.

UT also second best University in the Netherlands (overall band score) and 18 courses get a golden, silver of bronze medal.
In the ‘Best studies 2020’, published by Elsevier Weekblad, the University of Twente came in second after Wageningen University in the list of Best Dutch Universities. The UT ranks as the best of the technical universities leaving TU Eindhoven and Delft University behind them. Of the 47 UT programs that were compared, no less than 18 received a medal, six of which were gold.

“Best Studies” measures student satisfaction with University programs in the Netherlands. For that Elsevier uses the figures from the Dutch Student Survey and research agency ResearchNed. Students give their opinion on the facilities, the education, the program structure, the teachers, the examination and the organization / communication. “Best studies 2020” is based on the figures for 2019 and compares them with the years before (no National Student Survey was held in 2020). Student satisfaction is compared with that of similar courses in the country. Both the Bachelor Applied Physics and the Master Applied Physics receive the highest rating of all UT programs. Students also give this high score to the teachers of these programs.
